What is the NCOTA?
The North Carolina Occupational Therapy Association is the professional membership organization for occupational therapists, occupational therapy assistants and occupational therapy students in North Carolina. NCOTA was established in 1957, and incorporated as a non-profit membership organization in 1976. In the early 1980s, NCOTA led the drive to regulate occupational therapy practice in North Carolina; this effort led to licensure in 1984. NCOTA serves as a catalyst, a resource, an advocate, and a community for occupational therapy practitioners in North Carolina. Welcome to our website!
Our Mission
The North Carolina Occupational Therapy Association is here to promote continued, competent practice of occupational therapy; to impact health care, legislative, and reimbursement communities as advocates for the consumer and the profession; and to be responsive to the needs of the membership by promoting professional education, fostering communication, and monitoring trends in health care and in the community that affect the practice of occupational therapy. |
