Welcome to the 2011 NCOTA conference. We are excited about the quality and variety of the presentations available this year, as well as some new features.

We will kick off the conference on Saturday morning with an update from the NC Licensure Board and a Keystone Presentation by Dr. Edward Kesgen, a nationally renowned speaker, author, and blogger. Dr. Kesgen will help us learn how to take care of ourselves while we are busy taking care of others. We will close out on Sunday afternoon with a Capstone Presentation by Nora Poisella, RN, from NC Division of Medical Assistance. Her overview of Medicaid documentation guidelines and prior authorization will be beneficial for OT practitioners in all areas of practice. In between these wonderful presentations, there are 16 two hour sessions offered by knowledgeable OTs, OTAs, and students.

You will find 4 tracks: Physical Disabilities, Geriatrics, Pediatrics, and General/Mental Health, with something at each breakout session. A new addition this year is the SIS Chat and Networking session on Sunday. There will be organized chat forums led by each SIS Chairperson, providing the opportunity to network with colleagues and earn CE credits at the same time. Please see the brochure for the topic points for each SIS. CE credits are also available during the poster session on Saturday, when you can speak with the poster authors.
