AOTF Awards and Honors

Every year, AOTF recognizes distinguished colleagues and their important contributions to the profession with the A. Jean Ayres Award and the Virginia Scardina Award.  In 2018, we were proud to recognize Roberta (Bobbi) Pineda, PhD, OTR/L, with the A. Jean Ayres Award and Rondalyn Varney Whitney, PhD, OTR/L, FAOTA with the Virginia Scardina Award of Excellence.  It is now time to reflect and consider nominating a colleague for an AOTF award to be given in 2019.

The deadline for nominations is September 1, 2018.  This may seem far off, but it is not too soon to start the process!

ACOTE® Announcement of OTA Survey

March 8, 2018

The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE®) continues to explore the role of occupational therapy assistants and the entry-level education requirements. The Occupational Therapy Practice Framework: Domain and Process (3rd ed.; AOTA, 2014) broadened the areas in which occupational therapy professionals practice. In doing so, the role of the OTA is evolving to address the needs of persons, groups, and populations directly and indirectly. The purpose of this survey is to better understand the current and emerging role of the OTA in meeting the occupational needs of society. Please respond to the following survey, which seeks to evaluate the role of the occupational therapy assistant in the profession.

You can access the survey using the following link (or by copying and pasting the link into your web browser). The survey takes less than 15 minutes to complete.
