The following elected positions are available for nomination: President-Elect (1), Treasurer (1), Membership Services Co-Chair (1), Continuing Education/Conference Co-Chair (2), Special Interest Sections Coordinator (1) (see descriptions below)

All nominees for all elected positions shall be an OT/L or OTA/L, and a member of NCOTA at the time of nomination. Elections will be held in June 2018.

POSITION DESCRIPTIONS:

President-Elect (1)

  1. Shall be responsible for learning the duties and responsibilities of the President’s office.
  2. Shall gain an understanding of the structure and function of the NCOTA and Executive Board.
  3. Shall perform other duties as assigned by the President.

 

Treasurer (1)

  1. Shall have oversight of the collection of all dues, fees, and other monies paid into or belonging to the Association.
  2. Shall maintain full and accurate accounts of all receipts and disbursements of the Association.
  3. Shall have the Association accounts reviewed annually.
  4. 4.       Shall report at the annual meeting and submit to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors a written statement of the financial affairs of the Association.

 

Continuing Education/Conference Committee Co-chairs (2)

The Conference Committee Member is a position with a 3-year commitment to NCOTA, including 6 months of assistant conference planning in conjunction with the two board members and one other committee member. After fall conference 2018, this position would move into the formal NCOTA board position and co-lead planning one spring and one fall conference per year with the other NCOTA board member and conference committee members. Duties include:

  1. Updating conference materials including exhibitor prospectus, call for proposals, call for posters
  2. Advertising conference and recruiting conference speakers
  3. Evaluation of conference proposals and development of conference schedule
  4. Research and coordination of contracts for future conference locations
  5. Initiate contact with vendors and sponsors.
  6. Email and video conference communication with speakers, board members, association members, and the conference committee to delegate other tasks as needed.

 

Membership Services Co-Chair (1)

  1. 1.       Shall develop and implement membership recruitment and retention strategies
  2. 2.       Shall regularly communicate membership data to the Board
  3. 3.       Shall maintain communication with membership to assess current needs

 

Special Interest Section Coordinator (1)

  1. 1.       Provide coordination of activities and oversight of all Special Interest Sections activities
  2. 2.       Ensure that content and events provided by the SISs are current and updated
  3. 3.       Act as a voting presence to represent the Special Interest Sections
  4. 4.       Recruit and make SIS Co-Chair appointments
