NCOTA Wins Awards at AOTA Conference

Apr 21, 2016

Affiliated State Association Presidents, at the AOTA National Conference, presents awards in 12 categories as a way to recognize creative and effective initiatives across the country, and also a method to share good ideas among the states. I am thrilled to announce that North Carolina won 3 awards (a record for the ASAP Awards)!

We were recognized in the areas of Social Media, Student Involvement, and New Initiative. I have attached the nomination forms so you can see the specifics of each nomination. Take a few moments to read them. I want to especially recognize Elizabeth Hart for her incredible work in social media (along with student volunteer Lauren Jones), Lisa Pierce for her ideas and consistent work in the Member Highlights for which we won “New Initiative”, and the entire board for our student involvement.

Some of you have mentored students to present/co-present sessions, posters (Nancy Green) or volunteer for us. I am also thankful for your support to offer student-focused sessions at each fall conference, as well support for our new proposed change to include a student member on the board. We have much to celebrate!
